Galaxy Blow 2 Leads and Chance for Respect

Tonight the Los Angeles Galaxy went from a team on the way up to a to a bunch of dudes rolling down "Sand Dune Park" trying to cling to anything that would hold. And all this only took a mere 45 min, plus 3:39 of stoppage time. The dominant team that controlled the ball and produced the lion's share of the chances in the first 45, which included a Landon Donovan goal off a miss played ball by Columbus goalkeeper Will Hesmer in the fourth min, looked old on the right side and young and inconsistent everywhere else, with the exception of Donovan. Two blown chances to put the game away, first off the head of Edson Buddle and then a no excuses miss wide from Donovan, put the Crew in a good position going into halftime. Giving all the kudos to the Crew, who were not shaken by an early second half goal from Buddle, they continued to go forward like little boys in the field and eventually took advantage of Steve Cronin like a drunk co-ed. I think Cronin forgot to put the sticky stuff on his gloves or he is simply afraid to go into traffic and do whatever it takes to CATCH the freaking ball. To his defense (not that there is much of one in front of him... I blame Lalas for that) his defenders were much more content to look at rebounds than actually clear one from the box.

For a team that has been continually progressing as the season goes on I believe this is undoubtedly as step backward. And should be unacceptable not only to everyone in the organization but to everyone who pays good money to see this team play. We pay to see the highest level of soccer in this country and I hope to God this is NOT IT!!!
